Ever since iPhones first launched, they’ve been wildly successful by any measure. Sales have grown from $1.4 million in 2007 to nearly $218 million in 2018. The iPhone has always been, as they say, a hot commodity.
It’s more than that, though. Our lives are tethered to these devices at this point. They are a blessing and a curse, depending on whom you ask. Regardless, once you have one, you can’t really live without it.
So what do you do when something breaks—or just isn’t working properly? Frustration mounts; sadness envelops you. We know the pain.
But don’t fret! We’re here to help with iPhone repairs for just about any issues you could run into.
Before we get into everything we can fix, we should first point out Apple’s 1-year warranty, which covers all manufacturer defects for 1 year from your purchase date. The warranty does not cover accidental damage, though, which some of these issues fall under. It also does not cover anything outside 1 year, unless you purchased additional protection.
That being said, check out everything we can repair for you!
Cracked Screens & Back Glass
We do a lot of screen and back glass repairs here, it’s like our bread and butter. Even though the iPhone’s glass is tougher than before, it ain’t invincible. So if you accidentally dropped it, sat on it, or even used it as a frisbee, we got your back to fix it up.
Battery Replacement
One of the most frequent grievances we hear is about batteries draining too quickly. Sure, phone batteries have gotten better over the years, but they’re still no match for the never-ending onslaught of social media and video streaming.
Sometimes, the issue lies with software bugs or apps that suck up all the juice. But let’s face it, oftentimes the battery’s just on its last legs.
No need to fret though, we’ve got your back. We can hook you up with a brand spankin’ new battery that’ll keep you going for days on end.
Water Damage
Electronics and water don’t mix well, and that’s a fact. Although modern iPhones are designed to resist water to some extent, older models don’t have the same level of protection.
So, if you spilled your drink, took your phone for a swim, dropped it in the toilet, or just have a habit of browsing Instagram while showering, we can take apart your device and try to dry it out. Although it’s not a surefire solution, it’s your best bet at getting your phone back up and running.
Display & Feedback Issues
iPhones can experience various types of display issues, including the notorious “Blank Screen of Death” which can come in black, white or blue. However, fear not, as this is often solvable with a “hard reset” that you can perform yourself.
- For earlier iPhones with a Home button, hold down both the Home and Power buttons simultaneously for around 10 to 15 seconds until you see the Apple logo appear on your screen.
- For newer models with a fingerprint scanner or full-face screen, hold down the Volume Up and Power buttons at the same time until the logo appears.
But, for other display issues like dead pixel zones, washed-out colors or a tinted display, lagging and freezing, or “ghost touch” where the screen behaves erratically, it’s best to leave it to the professionals. Regardless of the problem, we’re always happy to help you out and get your device working like new again.
Broken & Unresponsive Buttons
Sometimes your buttons get stuck or are just outright unresponsive. Whether it’s your home, volume or power buttons, we can disassemble the phone, clear away any dirt and grime that may be interfering, or repair or replace malfunctioning hardware.
Loose Charging Port
Just about everyone’s experienced a loose charging port. You go to plug your phone in, and the cable either falls out, or you have to jimmy it around to get it to connect properly. Thankfully, this is largely something you can fix on your own by cleaning it out. But you have to do it carefully:
- Get yourself a safety pin, small paperclip, or something similarly sturdy and narrow.
- Using this tool, carefully scrape around the edges and bottom of the port. This will dredge up the accumulated lint, dust and dirt. Do not touch the gold contacts inside the charging port. This could cause damage and prevent charging and data transfer.
- Use a soft-bristled toothbrush to gently brush out the loosened debris.
- Blow into the port to further clear out the debris. Do not use pressurized or canned air. It can damage the gold contacts.
If these steps don’t resolve your issue, you could be looking at a damaged port. Bring it in to us and we’ll take a look.
Speaker & Microphone Issues
If you’re having difficulty hearing calls through your phone’s internal speaker, or getting muffled audio through the bottom speakers, or even no audio at all, we can help you out. Sometimes it just needs a good cleaning, but other times there may be a hardware malfunction causing the issue. Either way, we’ve got you covered.
Software & iOS Issues
If your phone is running slower than a sloth on sedatives, freezing, lagging, or crashing more often than a demolition derby, it could be due to software or iOS issues. But no worries, we’ll run a full diagnostic to find out the root cause of the problem. Before bringing in your phone, make sure to back up all your contacts, photos, and files to avoid losing anything important!
